The Scientific Theatre and the discussions with the public of the 2012 Freiburg Forum on Environmental Governance will be supplemented by the contributions of our keynote speakers, Dr. Reiner Griesshammer, Sylvia Lorek and Peter Volz.

Rainer_Griesshammer          Dr.Reiner Griesshammer

 

Dr. Rainer Grießhammer is member of the executive board of the Öko-institut as director of the sustainable products and material flows research division. His main areas of work include methodology development for Life Cycle Analysis, Social Life Cycle and Product Sustainability Assessment, as well as product-related policy for climate change mitigation. Dr. Grießhammer has won the Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt award in 2010 for his influence in the environmental debate in Germany. He is also the author of multiple publications including books like "Der Klima-Knigge" and "Der Öko-Knigge" among others.

 

 Sylvia_Lorek          Sylvia Lorek

 

Sylvia Lorek has been working as a researcher and policy consultant for sustainable consumption since 1993. From 1998 to 1999, she worked as a researcher at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy. Since 2000 she is working with the Sustainable Europe Research Institute on studies as a consultant for national and international organizations (OECD, EU, EAA, Wuppertal Institute, ProSus Norway etc.). She works in close cooperation with German and internationa NGOs following policy processes around sustainable consumption.

Peter_Volz          Peter Volz

 

Peter Volz received his diploma in Social Sciences and South Asian studies in Berlin and his Master in Environmental Governance in Freiburg in 2009. He has worked for the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) and for the French environmental research and consultancy ACTeon. His main research interests are innovative approaches to agriculture and the role of politics in the advancement of participative and integrative models, resilience theory as well as sustainability indicators. He is the scientific director of DIE AGRONAUTEN.
