Overview

Building on his experience related to the art exhibit “Evolving Landscapes, Biosphere Reserves, Goods and Services”,
Mr. Karl-Heinz Gaudry reflected on the determinant role of new-media for the success or failure of events designed to raise environmental awareness. In his presentation, Mr. Gaudry highlighted how the dynamics of institutional networking have evolved in the light of increasing global connectivity. This new setting has opened opportunities for single individuals, like Mr. Gaudry, to present novel ideas and conceps in an arena with universal resonance. To achieve success, or a "viral effect" in new-media jargon, all that is needed is a free-email account, setting up a web-page, and using existing services like YouTube and Facebook.
